‘Hillview Art’ 2015 – Open Studio Events

Hillview Art opens on Sat. 15th August and runs through to bank holiday – Monday 31st August. Opening hours are: 10 – 5 pm. Entry is FREE.
This is an opportunity to ‘ View Contemporary Art in a Tranquil Forest Setting’
Artists will be exhibiting: ceramics, glass, jewellery, painting, sculpture, wood turning and more!
Gallery spaces , including shepherd’s hut gallery and sculpture throughout the grounds.
A programme of morning children’s workshops and afternoon demonstrations.

DEMONSTRATIONS: 2 – 4.30 pm
Geoff Knott our friendly wood turner will be here in his weatherproof marquée every other afternoon commencing Sat. 15th August, finishing on the 31st. A wonderful
opportunity to view firsthand the transformation of a piece of wood into a work of art.
In addition it will be possible to view beaded jewellery and fused glass demonstrations.

CHILDRENS’ WORKSHOPS: 11 – 12.30 pm
There will be an opportunity for young people to explore a range of media: clay, printmaking and jewellery making.
There will be a small charge [£3 – £5] for materials/firing. Booking is essential.

REFRESHMENTS are available all day: teas, coffees, homemade cakes …. We just ask for a contribution towards our local charity.

XMAS OPENING
We shall be open for the weekend of the 7th and 8th of November: 10.30 – 4.30 pm.
This proved a very popular event last year, with a true Xmas flavour to the event.
